In a randomized placebo controlled trial, 336 patients from turkey were randomly divided into four groups:
1. Aspirin - 100 mg/day
2. Tadalafil - 5 mg/day
3. Aspirin + Tadalafil (100mg + 5mg /day)
4. Placebo

after 6 weeks, IIEF-EF score, SEP-2, SEP-3 were measured.
IIEF-EF score: 30 questions questionnaire score to assesS erectile function.

SEP-2: A yes/no question,if the man was able to successfully achieve penetration.

SEP-3: A yes/no question, if the man was able to maintain his erection until climax.

The results:
Improvement in IIEF-EF:
aspirin group +7.2
tadalafil group +7.3
aspirin and tadalafil +7.5
placebo +2

SEP-2: baseline was 50% for all the groups.
after six weeks:
aspirin group: 88%
tadalafil group: 89%
aspirin and tadalafil: 95%
placebo 59%

SEP-3: baseline was 30% for all the groups.
after six weeks:
aspirin group: 78%
tadalafil group: 80%
aspirin and tadalafil: 85%
placebo 43%

Common side effects of tadalafil are: flushing, headache, abdominal pain, dizziness and nasal congestion.
taking aspirin with tadalafil lowers the chance to get those side effects

the authors concluded that combination of aspirin and tadalafil is more effective and safer than tadalafil alone.
